While most Italian restaurants in the City of Angels are renowned for their lusciously Italian-inspired Mediterranean cuisine, Da Vinci at the Rembrandt Hotel in Sukhumvit Soi 18 is – in my humble opinion – top of the list when it comes to Sunday Brunch. Without a doubt one of the best value for money three-hour grazing feasts to be found anywhere in Bangkok, those who enjoy the full breadth of Italian cuisine will not be left feeling hard done by.
With a history dating back thousands of years, Italian chefs have had ample time to perfect some of the finest dishes known to foodies. From the land, we have a wide variety of meat cuts that include beef, pork, chicken and veal, while the offshoots of these animals give us some of the most delicious cheeses and spreads known to mankind. A super choice of vegetable-based dishes is the crown of Italian of cuisine, but diners cannot stop there; pasta is the archetypal Italian cuisine and Da Vinci’s chefs serve up a stunning selection of pasta and risotto dishes from two live cooking stations.

Da Vinci also pushes the boat out to offer a fantastic selection of BBQ seafood from tuna steaks, fresh salmon cuts, white fish, crabs, prawns and shellfish. Meat-eaters can also enjoy the flavours of the grill with the finest cuts of beef, chicken, lamb and pork cooked to perfection and served piping hot at your table.
A family-friendly Italian restaurant that evokes memories of a beachside or mountainside eatery, Da Vinci’s menu also covers an enticing array of antipasto, crisp salads, soups, fresh pasta, risotto and bite-sized pizzas from a wood-fired oven. To top off the incredible Sunday Brunch offer, Da Vinci also offers free flow Prosecco wine, a fantastic bubbly drink that’s perfect with Italian cuisine.

Taking a table for three, we all set out with our designated table numbers to the pizza oven, the outdoor grill and the live cooking pasta and risotto stations. Simply tell the chef your order, present your table number coupon and leave the rest to the skilled team. While the chefs went about their business preparing our feast, we took our time to browse the mouth-watering cold cuts section, the seafood and salad offerings, fresh oysters and all the associated dippings and spreads that accompany such gastronomic treats. I won’t fib; we scooped heaps of the aforementioned dishes on to numerous plates for an unforgettable table-sharing experience.
