Aman will reopen two of its Bhutan lodges this September following extensive refurbishments, introducing new wellness facilities and upgraded guest accommodation at Amankora Paro and Amankora Punakha. The reopening marks the latest chapter for Aman, which has been welcoming guests to Bhutan for more than 20 years with a collection of lodges spread across five valleys. Amankora Lodges Reopen Refreshed
Set to reopen on 15th September, both lodges have undergone significant upgrades designed to enhance the guest experience while preserving Bhutan’s cultural heritage and natural surroundings.

Located 2,250 metres above sea level in the Paro Valley, Amankora Paro has introduced a new standalone Aman Spa House set within pine forests overlooking the surrounding landscape. The private wellness retreat includes a hammam, treatment rooms, relaxation lounge, hot bath, cold plunge, and outdoor pool, offering a range of signature spa experiences for individuals and couples.
The lodge has also added a traditional banya sauna beside the river, combining heat therapy, cold plunges, and Eastern European-inspired wellness rituals. Existing spa facilities, including treatment rooms, the yoga studio, sauna, and steam room, have also been refurbished, while a new yoga pavilion provides a dedicated space for private sessions surrounded by the forest.

All 24 guest suites have been updated with new timber interiors, improved climate control, mood lighting, and enhanced in-room facilities. Public areas, including the lounge, bar, restaurant, and library, have also been redesigned to create a more contemporary and comfortable atmosphere.
Further north in the Punakha Valley, Amankora Punakha has completed a refurbishment of all 12 guest suites, introducing upgraded interiors and improved guest amenities while retaining the character of the restored 300-year-old farmhouse at the heart of the property.

The lodge has also expanded its wellness facilities with new hydrotherapy experiences, including a steam room, Jacuzzi, cold plunge, bucket shower, and relaxation lounge, complementing existing treatment rooms and yoga facilities.
Communal areas have also been refreshed with a new dining room, retail space, library, media room, and guest lounge, while the farmhouse’s original altar room continues to host Buddhist ceremonies led by the resident monk.

The refurbished lodges reinforce Aman’s long-standing commitment to Bhutan, combining contemporary comfort with the country’s rich traditions, landscapes, and spiritual heritage.
