A Moonlit Celebration Mooncake

Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok has unveiled its enchanting A Moonlit Celebration Mooncake Collection 2026, created in collaboration with acclaimed Thai artist, designer and storyteller Phannapast ‘Yoon’ Taychamaythakool. Inspired by her childhood memories of celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival within her Thai-Chinese family, the collection reimagines this cherished tradition through a blend of artistry, storytelling, and contemporary design.

 

Celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival falls on 25th September. Drawing on the customs of family gatherings beneath the full moon, adorned with flowers, candles, and mooncakes, Phannapast has created a whimsical design featuring two jade rabbits travelling across the night sky aboard a majestic bird of paradise. Carrying hopes, dreams, and blessings towards the moon, the enchanting artwork captures the spirit of the festival while reflecting Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok’s commitment to craftsmanship and creativity.

 

 

The collection features four carefully crafted mooncake flavours, including the returning favourite Royal Custard, alongside Ruby Strawberry made with Royal Project strawberries from Chiang Mai, Golden Monthong & Salted Egg Yolk showcasing Chanthaburi’s prized durian, and Emerald Pistachio, crafted with premium Italian pistachios.

 

Presented in an elegant wooden box containing eight mooncakes, the set is adorned with intricate laser-cut motifs of jade rabbits and the moon. It is accompanied by a luxurious velvet-style tote bag designed by Phannapast, featuring her signature jade rabbits, peonies, and a luminous moon. In Chinese culture, peonies symbolise prosperity, honour, love, and good fortune, making the collection an elegant gift for family, friends, and business associates during the Mid-Autumn Festival.

 

 

The ‘A Moonlit Celebration’ Mooncake Collection will be available from 1st August, priced at Bt3,688 net per set. An early-bird offer of Bt3,188 net is available until 31st July, with delivery throughout Bangkok available for an additional charge depending on distance.
