Flavors at Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel offers a bold approach to international and Thai cuisine in part thanks to its forward-thinking Chef de Cuisine, Chef Prasertchai ‘Jack’ Trongvanichnam. A former winner of Iron Chef Thailand, Chef Jack’s culinary skills continue to thrill diners of all ages and nationalities as he elevates contemporary Thai and international cuisine to a whole new level by applying his unique techniques to the dishes he creates.
Typically open from dawn to late night serving breakfast and dinner from 6pm until 10pm, Flavors is also the home to the classic Sunday Brunch, now served on the first Sunday of every month. We first met Chef Jack while ordering our Eggs Benedict at breakfast and then again when he popped up at our table at Sunday Brunch to serve us two magnificent lobsters, one topped with garlic butter the other with cheese and mushrooms.
With a series of live cooking stations and sections for pre-cooked Chinese dishes from Fei Ya and Italian treats from La Tavola as well as Thai and Indian options, there are dishes to suit every palate. Japanese cuisine is also a popular choice with fresh sushi and sashimi, California rolls and assorted pickles, ginger, wasabi and sea grapes up for grabs.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, all food items at Flavors are now secured behind plexiglass with diners telling staff which food they would like. This by no means takes anything away from the absolutely top-notch cuisine, fantastic flavours and freshness this eatery is known for. Always popular with Thai diners, seafood is one of the busiest sections serving up fresh oysters with all the trimmings, prawns, mussels, various types of crab and a mind-boggling array of dips and sauces. Make sure to pay a visit to the barbecue grill where you’ll find lamb, beef, chicken, pork and seafood specials.
Highlights at the monthly Sunday brunch include a gourmet deli station serving Smoked Salmon with Dill Mustard Aioli, Lemon Wedges and Capers; Pate Croute or Duck pate with Plum Compote & Pickles, Antipasti with Eggplant, Broccoli, Tuna Salad and Tomato Caprese; Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken & Condiments; Artisan Cold Cuts; as well as Imported Cheeses.
Likewise, Western classics Hasselback Potatoes; Vegetables Sauté; Steamed Cod in Lemon Beurre Blanc; Chorizo Mac’n Cheese; Pork Cheeks in Mushroom Gravy; Mushroom Cream Soup with Croutons; while the freshly cooked carving station offers treats such as Wagyu Sirloin in Mustard & Thyme Rub; Lamb Cutlets; Pork Wellington; Salmon Carving Dish; plus Truffle Hollandaise, Mushroom Cream Sauce, Pink Pepper Corn Sauce and Lemon Butter Sauce.

If you’re a fan of Italian and Mediterranean food then make a bee-line for dishes such as a choice of two fresh pasta plates; Mushroom Cream Sauce – Slow Cooked Pork Cheeks Ragout; Paella Negra with Rock Lobster & Chorizo; Lasagna in Cocotte; and of course the daily special pizza.
If at this stage you have any space left for dessert, Flavors is famous for its homemade products such as ice cream, cakes, soufflés and much more. For the kids, you’ll be happy to know a chocolate fountain dispenses the food of the gods throughout brunch.
