Avani Ratchada Bangkok celebrates Pride Month with The City Is Never One Color, a photography exhibition exploring diversity, identity, and belonging through the everyday colours of Ratchada. Running until the end of June, the exhibition transforms public spaces throughout the hotel into a visual journey reflecting the many lives, perspectives, and experiences that shape one of Bangkok’s most vibrant neighbourhoods.
Developed in collaboration with Dr. Prachaya Piemkaroon and first-year students from the Tourism Communication and Innovative Management Communication major at the College of Social Communication Innovation, Srinakharinwirot University, the exhibition explores how colour naturally exists within everyday urban life – becoming a quiet reflection of individuality, belonging and human connection. Rather than referencing symbols traditionally associated with Pride, it finds diversity in the ordinary: commuters crossing paths at MRT Phra Ram 9, neighbourhood storefronts, local markets, places of worship and the fleeting encounters that make a city feel alive.

Featuring more than 40 photographs organised into curated chapters – When Colors Coexist, Quiet Colors and Balance – the exhibition invites visitors to pause, observe and reflect on the relationships between people, places and the shared spaces that connect them.
The experience concludes with What Color Are You Today?, an interactive installation where visitors select a colour that reflects how they feel, who they are or what they wish to express. Each contribution becomes part of a growing communal artwork – a collective portrait built from many perspectives, and a reminder that every colour, every story and every individual contributes to the character of the city.

The City Is Never One Color is open to the public free of charge from 8th – 30th June at Avani Ratchada Bangkok, located in the city’s New CBD and directly connected to MRT Phra Ram 9 Station.
