A Remarkable Dining Experience

For the first time in Bangkok, a unique culinary collaboration brings together the finest Scandinavian and Danish-Thai traditions. Sra Bua by Kiin Kiin and Villa Frantzén join forces for a remarkable dining experience themed ‘Midsommar’.

Midsommar is a beloved Nordic celebration that marks the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. Celebrated with joy and festivity, Midsommar traditions vary across the Nordic countries. This year, Midsummer’s Eve falls on Friday, 21st June and Midsummer’s Day on Saturday, 22nd June.

Danish Midsommar features family gatherings, traditional songs, bonfires, and classic dishes like ærtesuppe (pea soup) and rødgrød med fløde (red berry pudding with cream). Conversely, Swedish Midsommar is often celebrated in the countryside with picnics, maypole dances and traditional delicacies such as pickled herring, new potatoes and Prinsesstårta (Princess Cake).

This collaboration will merge these distinct traditions, showcasing the talents of two exceptional chefs: Nilas Corneliussen from Villa Frantzén and Henrik Yde-Andersen from Sra Bua by Kiin Kiin. Nilas, Danish-born chef, Swedish at heart, and Henrik, the Danish-born chef inspired by Thailand, will present their different interpretations of Midsommar over two exclusive dinners, each one blending in their respective restaurant’s DNA.
