The Dragon Boat Festival

The Dragon Boat Festival

Zongzi sticky rice dumplings are being served at Summer Palace Cantonese restaurant at InterContinental Bangkok during the Dragon Boat Festival, a Chinese tradition that dates back well over 2,000 years to the Warring States era.

Skilled chefs will prepare the dumplings according to an ancient Monk Jumps Over the Wall recipe, stuffing the glutinous rice with Australian abalone, dried scallop, Hong Kong dried shrimp, fish maw, salted egg yolk, pork belly, and shiitake and wild morel mushrooms. The delicious mix is then wrapped in a lotus leaf, boiled and served hot to the table.
