Furthering its commitment to making a positive impact on children’s lives, Chatrium Hospitality has announced a fundraising partnership with Operation Smile, a world-renowned charitable organisation that provides life-changing cleft lip and cleft palate surgeries to children in need.

 

With this partnership, Chatrium Hospitality aims to raise awareness and vital funds for Operation Smile’s Thailand programme through a multi-pronged approach. This includes selling ‘Think First Think Earth’ merchandise like t-shirts and bags to employees across all Chatrium and Maitria properties, with proceeds directly benefiting Operation Smile.

Each Chatrium property also hosted its own creative fundraising activity to further amplify the impact. Emporium Suites by Chatrium organised a garage sale, Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok sold recycled Chupa Chups flower bouquets made from recycled paper and Chatrium Grand Bangkok sold special milk tea with pearls.

 

Chatrium Hospitality has set an ambitious target of raising Bt125,000 this year, which will enable Operation Smile to provide surgeries for five children with cleft lip and palate conditions, each surgery costing approximately Bt25,000. All donations collected throughout the campaign will be presented to Operation Smile by the end of 2024.

Pariyarat Chunlakittiphan, Corporate Director of Human Resources of Chatrium Hospitality, said, “We are honoured to partner with Operation Smile in this meaningful endeavour. By working together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of these children, giving them the opportunity for a brighter future with improved health and confidence.”

 

Chatrium Hospitality’s commitment to social responsibility extends beyond its current fundraising efforts. Their ‘Think First Think Earth’ programme tackles environmental and social issues by Reducing single-use plastic and converting remaining plastic waste into eco-friendly products through a partnership with Corsair; implementing a food waste prevention scheme with SOS Thailand; practising water management and energy conservation throughout their properties; and sourcing local suppliers with a focus on eco-friendly practices.

The hospitality group also engages the community by participating in charitable events like the Thailand Recovery Fund campaign and supporting local communities through humanitarian aid and cleanup projects. Additionally, Chatrium enhances the guest experience with the ‘Reduce, Recycle & Reuse’ project, which includes paperless options and donation drives.
