Reforestation Project In Ratchaburi

In celebration of the International Day of Forests in March, 137 Pillars Hotels & Resorts has announced its reforestation initiative, aimed at contributing to a better environment. For every suite stay at 137 Pillars Suites & Residences Bangkok and 137 Pillars House Chiang Mai during the month of April, both hotels will donate to a reforestation project in Ratchaburi province.

The 137 Pillars Hotels & Resorts’ reforestation project is a collaborative initiative between the hotel and the owners’ businesses, with the aim of supporting an ecological balance. With a passion for preserving nature, 137 Hotels & Resorts’ owners have generously devoted 500 rai of land located in Ratchaburi province for this reforestation project. The project aims to establish a self-sustaining forest ecosystem that can maintain and regenerate itself without significant external intervention or reliance on human activity.

The entire site covers some 500 rai.

The forest area, designed by renowned professor Julaporn Nuntapanich, an architect, forestry consultant and lecturer, who played a crucial role in the renovation of 137 Pillars House, both in terms of the house itself and its landscape. With his continuous efforts to preserve the environment, he has once again supported this forest project, which will thoughtfully feature a variety of elements including swales, canals, ponds, food forests and herb gardens. The goal for 2024 is to plant a diverse range of species, including dipterocarpaceae, leguminosae, aquatic plants, local fruits and herbs.

The hotel teams have set an ambitious goal to plant 1,600 trees in July 2024, with the owners aiming to plant an additional 15,000 plants of various species within the same year. This initiative is a testament to 137 Pillars Hotels & Resorts’ commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility.

To further engage hotel guests and contribute to a greener environment, throughout the month of April, US$3 (Bt108) will be donated from each guest stay at 137 Pillars properties in Bangkok (suites only) and Chiang Mai to support tree planting efforts.
