Crafted to provide a moment of pure relaxation and five sensory delights, this unique experience promises to redefine traditional afternoon high tea rituals at the 1897 Lounge.
Executive Pastry Chef Franck Istel, renowned for his innovative and refined pastry creations, joins forces with Kirinatu to curate an afternoon tea that transcends expectations. The Scented Serenity Afternoon Teatime is a testament to the harmonious collaboration between culinary excellence and sensory indulgence.
Pander in a symphony of flavours, as Chef Franck presents an array of 14 meticulously crafted French savouries and sweets that showcase his signature creativity. Each item is thoughtfully designed to complement the exclusive scent of Lotus Bleu, by Kirinatu, into a harmonious blend of exquisite flavours and distinct tasting notes, creating an unparalleled sensorial teatime journey.
The symphony starts with five delicate savouries highlighting Saffron (saffron aioli and charred shrimp tartlet, chilli rose petals), Ginger (tuna brioche, lemon soy gel and crispy ginger, Nashi Pears (lardons and onion cream cheese éclair, rosemary nashi pears), Caramel (smoked salmon croissant, fish sauce caramel, perilla) and last but not least, Dark Rum (dark rum-marinated duck, black pepper cherry gel).
This special-edition afternoon tea is served with three-flavoured scones presenting classic vanilla, bergamot and saffron, accompanied by homemade strawberry-vanilla jam, signature lemon cured and traditional Devonshire clotted cream – the perfect finish to a delightful teatime.
Enhance your palate even further with the five pastries and sweets featuring Cherry (little black forest baba), Apple (caramelised apple tart on speculoos), Apricot (apricot and lemon opera slice), Fig (crepe roll with homemade fig jam) and Forest Berry (forest berry compote, smoked vanilla cream in white chocolate cup). The afternoon tea comes with a luscious cherry crème brûlée written in French cerise set on the side.
Tea enthusiasts are in for a treat, as noble tea master Ging Nipaporn Hanwichai highlights a curated selection of delicate and exquisite Ronnefeldt teas that perfectly complement the flavours and aromas of this special afternoon tea edition. The tea pairing adds an extra layer of sophistication to the overall experience.
To complete your sensory experience, renowned harpist Tong-Juan Wang plays enchanting live harp music for everyone’s enjoyment during the afternoon teatime from Tuesday to Sunday, providing a harmonious backdrop to your afternoon.
The Scented Serenity Afternoon Teatime is served daily until 30th April from 1pm – 5pm at 1897 Lounge on the ground floor of Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok. The experience is priced at Bt1,590++ per set and paired with a choice of Ronnefeldt tea or divine coffee. Each is inclusive of a 30ml Kirinatu “Lotus Bleu” eau de toilette as a gift to enjoy at home.
