While some cafes, eateries, hotels and restaurants offer Afternoon Tea packages that consists of scones, sandwiches and freshly baked sweet and savoury pastries, Yào Restaurant at Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse is taking a different approach to this long-standing custom as it serves up a medley of dim sum and Chinese tea.


Recently added to the extensive menu, Chinese Head Chef Bruce Hui brings to life Yum Cha, an afternoon enjoyment with Chinese Tea. The unique experience features a selection of homemade dim sum, accompanied by a hot pot of tea to uplift the spirit and senses for a relaxing afternoon.

The Yum Cha set features savoury items such as Abalone in golden soup, Shrimp Shu Mai, Xiao Long Bao, Deep-fried cheese dumpling with crab, Pan-fried fish dumpling with green chives, Pan-fried turnip cake with XO sauce and other classic dishes. The set is complete with delicious desserts that include Custard puff pastry and Sago with coconut milk served with cantaloupe, which are served with stunning views of Bangkok and the Chao Praya River.


Embracing the rich history of Chinese tea culture and indulging guests with a fine modern Chinese cuisine, Yào Restaurant is hosting the unique Yum Cha experience every Saturday and Sunday from 3pm – 5pm for the price of Bt1,888++ per set per person.
