The culinary team at The Okura Prestige Bangkok’s Michelin Plate restaurant Yamazato celebrates autumn in Japan with a series of seasonal treats in Gozen lunch and Kaiseki dinner.
The two Gozen lunch platters encompass traditionally prepared soup, sashimi, tempura, grilled and simmered dishes featuring premium seafood and autumnal ingredients such as saury and cutlass fish. The first platter includes offerings such as grilled mackerel, minced duck ball with shimeji mushroom and a succulent sashimi course of tuna, surf clam and yellowtail. Star of the second platter is a simmered dish of soy milk skin roll with royal fern, pumpkin, eggplant, carrot and saury fish.
On the Kaiseki dinner is a delicious starter of steamed octopus, shrimp and surf clam with maitake mushroom and ginko nuts, crab meat dumpling, mushroom and sea lettuce soup, and a wonderful tempura course of snow crab, shrimp, cutlass fish, shiitake mushroom and pumpkin. The dinner menu also has a hearty grilled offering of Hobayaki-style mackerel and beef garnished with eringi mushroom and ginko nuts, hot vermicelli noodles with pike eel and shimeji mushroom, and a simmered dish of minced salmon ball, turnip, grilled leek, shiitake mushroom, carrot, soy milk skin, ginger and spinach in soup.
The Autumn Gozen lunch and Kaiseki dinner at Yamazato runs from 1 – 27 October 2019 with lunch from 11.30 – 2.30pm, dinner 6pm – 10.30pm. Priced at Bt1,500++ for Gozen lunch and Bt4,700++ for Kaiseki dinner.
